The 1500cc engine was introduced for the 1967 model year. This car seems to have the smaller indicators and doesn't seem to have the Wolfsburg crest on the bonnet, so I would say 1963. |

The VW-Logo on hub caps aren't colored in the cars color anymore (that changed in 08/1963) The indicators are wide (that changed from small to wide in 11/1963) ... it looks wider The post of the little window (triangle window) in the door is vertical (that changed into angular in 08/1964) The wipers are unsprung (that changed in 08/1964) Between 11/1963 and 08/1964 Definitaly not later than 08/1965 because it hasn't the flat hub caps |

I still think this car has the older indicators. The wider ones are not so close to the headlights, they are placed a little backwards. |

After the cruising scenes were shot this car was apparently cut in half for interior filming. |

Hello, I would like to try to pinpoint the year. If you look very closely you can see the outline of the Wolfsburg Crest on the trunk ( a streetlight Is reflecting off of the Crest in the main picture, but It is there.) Also the turn signals are clear. I would say with 100% certainty that this Is no older than a 1962 Volkswagen Type 1. |
