I do not understand how many of these models came without a passenger door or climate protection for the poor driver, considering the humid climate of London

The position to the driver's left was closed in from the FX3 era onwards, an open area was there for suitcases and steamer trunks, and also for the Taximeter. It was a lot warmer than the driving position on a Hansom cab.

It is true, I have seen in an image of the Beardmore that it has a metal panel isolating the conductor, although I am not very clear if there was a glass to isolate from the cold ... It made me funny to remember the cab, I had seen them in a movie from jack the ripper

One of the last, a MkVII, still with an open side.

At least it has a sliding window ... Although the closure at the level of the dashboard does not seem very hermetic

As the bonnet side louvres look slightly different to our Paramount Ace MkV taxis, I think it's likely EMY 673 was after November 1937.
