i know little about how this works, but if the date of first registration was 1990... does that mean that the car was imported from another country at that time..? |

If the registration number is genuine, no; it dates from 01/08/1970 - 31/07/71. We've seen elsewhere that DVLA info isn't always reliable. |

The date range you give is the age of the car, not the age of the registration. From what was said previously, an imported car gets a registration corresponding to its build year. So indeed it is a car made in 1971 but registered later, probably due to import. |
