These R5/R12 break's backlights/reg. plate lighting were added for the year 1977. Maybe on export some had them earlier, but I doubt it, as boot lid drawpiece was also specially modified for that in 1977+ R6s. EDIT: Black door handles! I read once, that they were used since 1978, but this seems to be not true judging by the 1978 and even 1979 cars. Maybe they were to meet in very late, 1980 models(?), but it is hard to find good pic of French made 1980 R6. From most of export range brochures, R6 was already removed for this year. Also possible that export brochures (for example 1978 one) did show silver handles, but in reality export cars had them sometimes black.... On this site we have in French movies 1978 (black mirror) and 1979 R6s with silver handles. -- Last edit: 2021-01-31 16:39:50 |

I haven't removed it (or if I had, not consciously  )Anyway, I wrote that there was a French forum post with the year on year changes in both domestic and export R6s IIRC but I can't find it. Sorry if it was me - I had this page opened more than one time in browser, wanted to make reply and for a while I must have gone mad because of "all of that"  https://renault6.forumactif.com/t36-r6-de-ses-balbutiements-a-sa-fin - here was something like that (about French ones at least), but by what I see nothing about the door handles color. |
