Apparently there was a Nash used in the movie, at least, according to someone on the IMDb forums. |

^ Indeed, the story made no sense whatever, the lines spouted by Brad Pitt were some of the most asinine and insipid rubbish I've ever heard, so I can't even blame Pitt for being terrible (that said, so was Gabriel Byrne who looked like he had no idea what he was doing), Kim Basinger acted more cartoony than the animated Holli Would, and the constant interruptions with unrelated animated bits were just plain irritating. To say nothing, of course, of the fact that there was nothing at all cool about Cool World, except maybe that Mercury. And, yes, the blending of live action and animation (such as Brad Pitt putting his arms around Lonette) was horrendous. Having said that, there are actually two things in this movie that deserve praise: David Bowie's "Real Cool World" is a real cool tune I've enjoyed ever since I first heard it, and the all too briefly seen and heard Super Jack was riotously funny (and hilariously voiced by the hopelessly underrated Maurice LaMarche). Where was that humor before?!? -- Last edit: 2025-05-26 01:06:48 |
