Pas une Roadmaster (3 "portholes" sur le capot). Soit une Special, soit une Super. |

En général, c'est écrit "Super" sur la calandre des Super. donc, c'est une spécial...je corrige. |

It's written Buick Eight on the grill, it should be "Buick Eight Special" , no? -- Last edit: 2007-11-29 19:30:28 |

Wonderful shots, Sixcyl! No, "Eight" is not part of the manufacturer's name. |

but is it part of model's name? |

Neither. Buick had only eights. |

It's a pleasure |

I really think this is a SUPER based on the script on the lower front fender. The second character does not look like a P. |

It IS a Super, the Special still had a two piece windshield in 1950... |

So shall we remove the "Eight" from these two: /vehicles_make-Buick_model-Super+Eight.html ? |

I'm not a Buick specialist. Yet, in the litterature I have, there's no mention of "eight" in Buick model names. They are classed by series (40, 50, 60, etc). Those numbers are completed by names (Special, Century, Roadmaster, etc...) from 1936 on. -- Last edit: 2007-11-30 21:35:22 |

That's right, "Eight" only designated the number of cylinders (all 1931-61 Buicks had 8 cylinder engines). The same is true with Buicks from the late forties/early fifties with "Dynaflow" badges. Dynaflow wasn't a model, it was the name of Buick's automatic transmission. |

Henri Cogan au volant, Jean Luisi à la mitraillette que du bonheur... |
