Commer V-series (VA or VB) I believe. From previous comments I understand the Maxiload cab would have wider mud-guards? |

There were two versions of the Maxiload 14ton and 16ton ,according to the literature I have the 14 ton version had narrow mudguards and the 16ton wide mudguards. However apart from this the whole range of vehicles with this cab are so similar they are difficult to tell apart. |

Not sure where you got your info from jcb, but it is incorrect. I have original Rootes sales literature which I am happy to send on to you - should be up on my Commer website shortly, and the cab mudguards, etc was the same for both as they both had the same wider track front axle -covering the wheels on the wider axle was the reason for the wider guards. Let's clear the Maxiload confusion a little. The 215cid (135bhp) version of the TS3 two-stroke motor was developed to power the Maxiload (bigger truck carrying bigger load), but could also be ordered as optional equipment for the 7,8, ton trucks and 10,12 ton tractors. So the Maxiload ALWAYS had a two-stroke motor. Commers with the two-stroke motor had TWIN headlights (C series). If a Commer has single headlights, it is a V series and is either petrol powered or Perkins powered. Hope this clears this up. Due to the position of the lights, this will be a VB (B meaning second series of the V) Hope this clears it all up, Cheers, Redbeard |
