The truck is a Citroen though, I think. |

This is a Morris (503?)- there was a similar model Austin based on an updated Lodestar |

From the shape of the name plate I would suggest it is an Austin and not the Morris-Commercial WE. From Austin the models 3-ton, 5-ton, 203 and 403 were produced between 1955 and 1964. So far I cannot tell which one this is. |

This is an Austin K2 or K4 Series II Loadstar. K9 was the W.D. 4x4 variant. |

Not an Austin K2 series II but Austin S203 3-ton or the heavier 403 5-ton, 1955-1964 because of the two-piece windscreen, there were slightly more Morris versions made I think. These were sold as an Morris WE. Austin version http://ccmv.fotopic.net/p26438936.html Later with a single curved windscreen and changed grill a Morris WF 1964-1968 renamed BMC WF then 1968-1970 renamed Leyland WF 1970-1981. Affectionately known as a 'Woofer' because of its dog-like appearance. -- Last edit: 2007-02-26 12:07:49 |
