Rear wheels look like those of a Ford (Eifel?), headlights are quite big, side mounted spare wheel immobilizes the left rear door... Very interesting 'artwork' as a result of shortage of material. Looks like a Paco-Paco avant la lettre.

Who would destroy a piece of history to create a fake auto?? really?! I mean, sure the Kübelwagen was a nazi tool, but anyway. It`s like putting a Rolls-Royce grill on a Beetle. It Doesn`t work!

Nowadays it wouldn't be done, but back then when they put that front clip on a kubelwagen wasn't worth anything, there was loads of them around europe and so they were just used as cheap cars and so lots of them got treated like this. But yes it is horrible

"They" haven't destroyed it, they have hold it alive with homemade-parts and tools.
Do you see, how fender and dors are looking? They were damaged and brought back in form with a hammer.

Nearly whole Middle Europe was destroyed during the WW II, cars weren't available for private persons until 1949/50, so any car, which has survived the war, was hold alive with any kind of parts and work.

In Germany and the German occupied areas all private cars were required by the Wehrmacht and the SS for the war, except old stuff from the 20ies and cars with two-stroke-engine. In the parts of Europe, which were occupied by the Soviet Army, nearly all running cars were picked up by them and brought there as reparations. And the Western Allies, especially the US Army, have also "picked up" cars, but they had chosen premium brands, like Mercedes Benz, Horch, Maybach, Hispano Suiza, also sportive and racing-cars from the Auto Union or BMW 327 and 328. So several car from the highest Nazi's and Italian fashists were shipped to the USA.

Just to give a numeric idea of the Nazi occupation in Holland concerning the automotive world, and it won't be very different in other occupied countries: in 1940 there were 100,000 cars in Holland, in 1945 only 15,000 were left. These 15.000 had survived because they had been hidden for the occupants, or left behind by the Nazi's when the car broke down... The rest was damaged or stolen.
