late model 99 hatch. Taillight design is 1977-82. Can't remember if the USA version was called Combi or Liftback. |

Only the 99 2-door sedan lasted in 1979-80. From 1981, it was just the 900 left. |

Actually the name was WagonBack Sedan (with a capitol B) (c) vintagesaabmanuals.org for the early 3-door cars 1974-76. You may struggle to find that name by the time the 5-door was added, by then they were simply referred to in the brochure as GL/GLE and 2/3/4/5-doors Does this have 3 or 5 doors? And, what's the 1977 change mentioned for the taillights? |

No, I've stared at this picture before but I don't have the answer. elsch was saying "could be GLE", but wouldn't the badge say "900 GLE" in that case? So it would have to be the short EMS badge as Q-Ball said. |
