The manufacturer is for sure Walter: http://hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/mark_redman/nov2003/file0076.jpg http://hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/mark_redman/nov2003/file0077.jpg http://hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/mark_redman/2004/sept/file0028.jpg http://hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/mark_redman/ex_navy_walter.jpg |

After comparing with the links above, I'd have to agree with Walter. No, I mean agree with mm that it is a Walter. Especially with that surely-unique side teardrop window. (Looks rather useless, I must say.) |

Yes this is a 1964 Walter/Yankee crash truck bought new by the LA City Fire Department. This 4x4 rig had shop #60169 with a 750 gpm. pump and a 2500 gallon tank, this truck was originally assigned to Crash 90 at Van Nuys Airport. You can clearly see "90" on the front of the rig, but the writing on the side must have been covered over for the movie. -- Last edit: 2011-01-06 23:06:47 |
