Very like an A7 (New) Ruby except the spare wheel moulding seems absent and rear lights should be on wings, not beside the plate. No idea of significance of ELM 34 - London, Nov 37-Jan 38 - but it would work with a New Ruby. |

The cars, as built, had no lights attached to the rear wings, but the regulation changed in the early 50s to require, (I think) two lights, which had to be spaced such that they would give an indication of the width of the vehicle. In effect the rule said that the lights had to be within so many inches of the widest part, 1 on each side, so the single light which served as both the numberplate light and the stop/tail lamp was made illegal. In practice, this generally meant that a Lucas “cheese dish” type lamp was fitted on each back wing.
