Light Duty defaults at Chevrolet. Medium /Heavy Duty default at GMC. GM is not a make for these; it is one or the other. This confuses visitors to the site. |

Since when? |

We normally default at Chevrolet for C/K-1500, Suburban, Tahoe and Silverado. For the Medium duty we default at TopKick. Heavy duty we seem to default at Brigadier. Elmer seems to use this when he posts. Was following how we have done it in the past. Sorry if this is counter productive but I won't use GM as a make when it is either a Chevrolet or a GMC. Pick one for each weight class and default there. Might be good to make a forum listing for defaults when we can't ID one or the other. That way members know each default. Not trying to argue or cause a disagreement but we need clarity on this. We don't say Mopar Neon or Mopar Caravoyager if we don't know. We have a default of Dodge. |

This is just a personal practice, but it doesn't compel other IMCDb's members. Note that I systematically use the "(by default)" tag, then, so readers are not mislead. And I sometimes use GM ![]() There are some "habits" among IMCDb's identifications, like the P-Series vans often identified as Chevrolet Step-Van by default, or The M-35 almost automatically assigned to AM General, but in most cases, it's mainly a matter of personal preferences... Most probably because Mopar isn't the name of the company owning "Mopar's makes", contrary to GM ![]() _____ (@dhill_cb7: off-topic part 2. By the way, the movie was shot in Mexico. Did GMC sell vehicles there, in 1970s? |

This is clearly a 1973 or later medium-duty C-Series, whether it's the Chevy or GMC. And I think it's the GMC duet to the type of cowl insignia. -- Last edit: 2020-03-15 12:46:13 |
