Looks like a 1947-50 Chevrolet Advance-Design to me |

Oh, it is. However, a 1955 model based on the hood emblem. It's got the 1952+ door handle and you can just make out the top piece of the 54-55 grille. |

I said 1947-50 because of lack of vent windows in the doors |

I just got back from watching the film and it's actually got the GMC front end. So a GMC New Design. Heck, there's even two of the suckers. @sup: I know you did. However, you shouldn't be able to tell so as the trafficator thingy or whatever the damn thing is, blocks the frame that would be visible in that precise spot. There's a wide shot that shows this baby from another angle and you can make out the vent windows from there. Case closed. |

@Lateef - Did you enjoy the film? |

I've already seen it twice, so yeah. |

@Lateef Where does it rank among the 9? |

I ain't for sure as I have yet to see Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. |

Do not make the mistake of passing up Inglorious Basterds. |

Seen from this distance, the hood side badge looks indeed more or less like the 1955 Chevrolet badge, but the GMC one was used from 1947 until 1955, on GMC trucks. This truck has for sure the 1947-53 2-piece windshield and the 1949+ fuel filler pipe, but it doesn't have the 1951+ vent windows, meaning a 1949-50 model: (1:30:49 // 1:30:54) A 1954-55 one (one-piece windshield) is visible in the background (with a 1963 Chevrolet C-Series and a 1956-57 Chevrolet medium-duty Task-Force). Most probably a 2½-ton 400 or a 3-ton 450/470, as it doesn't have the grille side lights and bezels used on lighter models: (1:31:04 // 1:31:22) |

@ somename: your link is the perfect example of the (weak) trustworthiness of the car rental sites about the model year, as discussed a few years ago in the forum. All pictures show that this truck is undoubtedly a 1949-50 model despite the 1951 model year given in the site |
