As far as I could find out this version (with rear spoiler and 'triangular' hubcaps) was new for 1982 and was called RX-7 SDX. |

I see that someone has changed the year to 1982. It is not so simple, actually we have lot of cars listed with the production year (according to plates) and not M.Y. And here, it is obvious that car was made in 1981. So we must decide what is more important. -- Last edit: 2007-07-21 00:20:16 |

I'm the guilty one  Personally I tend to keep the year of manufacturing as the most important, but on this site it's always the model year that is stated (and sometimes it starts as early as August...). |

Well, not always, some cars use build-year. This depends which year was used as reference for the maker. Some use model-years, some use build-year. I know that I always take the same example, but my Peugeot 106 had some details from the "new" 2002 model, different from the 2001 model, though that I bought it in mid-2001.
