As P5B production ended May 73, did they stash some of these away for PM use and dribble them out later?? |

Have now found out that they did exactly that. At least 6 were stored away, including JUU 570 - see here (in comments). And that (the first??) JUU 570 was a late 1967 car (probably chassis 850-00151A so very early example). Many Prime Ministerial P5Bs were modified by Hoopers with beige cloth interiors instead of leather, various electrical upgrades for radio telephones and other security communications, extra reading lights, and during Harold's time with special pipe-smoker ash-trays. -- Last edit: 2019-03-12 00:17:00 |
