'33 Willys never had a sloped-back roofline or split rear window like the '37 Ford. The character, River Scott, is based on NASCAR legend Wendell Scott, who famously built and drove a '37 Ford Sedan with a similar livery. Per this interview with the Scott family, who were consulted for the film: "The River Scott character that I worked with Disney Pixar on — that's the car," Warrick said, motioning to the '37 Ford in his driveway.
