Could this be 1971 Volkswagen 1302? |

the "painted as Harlekin" as extra info seems a little too much: from what is seen here it is just a two-tone painting |

Not really. I tried to capture some frames where there's something more visible: there are some parts on fenders and back that are painted in blue and green. ![]() ![]() ![]() I considered it a curious find both for the paint and for the fact that the real Harlekin special series debuted only 6 years after this episode in Mexico (together with the Polo in EU and the Golf in North America) with the same color scheme (although with a somehow different arrangement) Typ 1: ![]() Polo: ![]() Golf: ![]() -- Last edit: 2017-05-21 21:32:56 |

![]() cf Link to "boitierrouge.com" And the idea of mismatched color parts is probably somewhat universal -- Last edit: 2017-05-22 20:28:32 |

Uh ok, I didn't know of this ad. But for what I read it was only for the ad, it wasn't sold in such a version at those times, or? ![]() -- Last edit: 2017-05-23 23:22:58 |

I didn't say they sold it like that, but the idea of the Harlekin version may come from there. So it is not surprising to see other cars painted like that before the official Harlekin series. |
