Regino is the name of the import firm, for some reason the government put that as part of the name. And the SC4 I believe it is the trim level or some optional pack. Don't think it is necessary to put the Regino here on IMCDb. And the "made for BR" part I also think it isn't necessary because we recived the car on US or European specs, the only modification for Brazil was the obligatory fire stinguisher, the models imported from the US even kept the imperial gauges. We only got some made for BR stuff recently with the flexfuel engine on the F30 3 Series. |

The early 90's was a mess, imports was just liberated by the government and we got lots of different stuff. And anything was considered special, things like the Ford Taurus was treated like luxury car. When European brands started to have official reoeresents this thing of us-spec BMW kinda ended, but through the 2000's some independent importers kept selling euro cars. Sometimes I stumble across a us-spec Porsche or Mercedes at used cars websites. And talking about importers, the Ayrton Senna's family was the official Audi importer for a long time. And Audi vehicle sold well here, Brazil was the second best market for the Audi RS2 Avant with LHD. And now the Americans are buying it from here. |
