Was "Pie" a nickname? In Germany the 4 CV was called "Cremeschnittchen" (translateable as "little cream-cake"), due the colour of the first ones.

A nickname, that's why it is written between ' ..' as all the nicknames in the base :
'beetle' 'jeep' 'fainéant' 'frogeye' ..etc,etc...

...seems you are new on the site or what ? G-MANN :D

Well the sticking-out tongue smiley was really because I thought it was a funny name, rather than me accusing you of being wrong. I don't know this car at all, naturally someone like you would be more familiar with this since these would have been on the roads when you were growing up [Image: alenvers.gif] Also I haven't watched many films set in France in the 50s & 60s.

I was very young when these 4CV were used by Police and I think they had been replaced by Dauphine and R8 in the first half of the sixties , therefore this one should be one of the latest in service in 1963.
If I'm not wrong, they were specially designed for "Prefecture de Police de Paris". Therefore I don't remember having seen any in my loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong life :D ... At this time I lived in Bordeaux, ...better known for its good wines [Image: biere.gif]

Commentaires?
