Looks like straight out of Rockstar North modeling department..

The only thing that is identifiable here is that dashboard (albeit with a much more modified glovebox), the steering wheel and the curved windscreen, which all seem to be lifted from 1961-68 IH Travelall (or its pickup variant):

Could that be the base for this thing?

They also used a Firebird in that show from Google, wonder if it's the one parked next to this vehicle here?

The Grossmobile started life as a 1967 International Travelall. 345 cubic inch V8, automatic, 4WD. With the exception of the windshield the entire body was replaced with a new flat sheetmetal body manufactured in the Warner Bros. Special Effects shop. After the body was made the Grossmobile was wet down with water and left outside for several days to rust. Then it was clear coated to maintain that level of rust. It was equipped with Dick Cepeck Monster Mudder 14x15 tires. There were 4 hydraulic camper jacks welded into the fenders that would allow tire changes without using an external jack. The front end was equipped with a 12,000 lb Warn winch on a custom made bumper with push bars. The truck was fitted with a full length rollbar made from 2" .090 wall seamless steel tubing.

Thanks for the info, do you happen to know which year it was created/modified by Warner Bros.? And, was it built to look crude/homemade like this specifically for the TV show 'California Fever'?

The Grossmobile was created in 1979 specifically for the show "California Fever". Yes it was made to deliberately look homemade and crude. I was one of the technicians that built the vehicle and later on went on to be the FX foreman on the show. The show ran only 10 episodes before being cancelled for low ratings due to airing it in a competitive time slot.
After the show cancelled I purchased the Grossmobile and enjoyed the novelty of it for several years until the engine seized do to rainwater coming into the intake through the exposed air cleaner. I sold it to someone in Sunland-Tujunga, California who put a new engine in it. I don't know what happened to it after that. If you check out "California Fever" on IMDB you can see my credits for Special Effects.

Does it have a major role in California Fever? How many stars would it deserve? Here we don't know the role for it, being an obscure TV show. Also, if you have a better pic of the vehicle from California Fever feel free to post it here. That pic I attributed to it was from the opening theme.
