Haven't been to NYC in about a year and a half.. and they didn't run these cabs.. yet. If that's a legit cab, it's new.., like 2015-2016. |

I think these started being delivered in 2014 but were allowed to start being the main replacement in 2015. |

I still despise the design of these unsightly taxis. |

at least they seem to work fine. My mom's cousin uses one as work vehicle ( not as taxi but delivery truck ), already reached 50,000 miles and so far , not a single little problem -- Last edit: 2016-07-27 08:50:07 |

42E7 is a fake medallion number; correct format is 1A11. |

25 years old, and I still have a hard time understanding what people talk about whenever they mention "ugly cars". |

^ Am I meant to think it's ugly? Because I don't. |

It shows a total lack of style compared against: - https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Riley_Nine_Kestrel_Saloon_1936_2.jpg Similar class of car, similar date, similar price, but oh, what a difference in approach. |

With the Singer, at least they tried something different. It's a bit like comparing a Cortina to a Sierra. |

people being really anal about aesthetics I guess honestly these cabs have never bothered me too much (theres a healthy mix of them around the city as yellow and green cabs) and I think they look better than most previous ideas for the "cab of the future" |

I remember reading Martin Buckley and Chris Reeds' book The World Encyclopedia of Cars where they say "From the late 1960s onwards, Mustangs started to get bigger and uglier" and "Worst of the bunch was the flabby Grande model with its ugly vinyl roof" - and describing the Mustang II as "Unlike the 1964 car, however, it will never be a classic". Since then, I've more or less switched off my headset about "vehicle aesthetics" as they're merely opinions. A notable exception would be the IES America. |
