Round badge on right side of the bootlid seems to mean it's a range topping 'Orvis' model. Red one is a later model, plate is a definite fake as the X plate on main is from about a year after this model was replaced. -- Last edit: 2016-02-27 16:08:10 |

The 'Orvis Edition' trim level mentioned on Wikipedia is different from the 'Orvis' model sold in the UK. From what I can find, this Orvis was introduced here in October 1997 and ran to the ZJ's replacement in early 1999. Here's a review giving (some) info: Link to "www.theaa.com" |

Glass's list Grand Cherokee Orvis as 4.0 only - Nov 97 to July 99, based on 4.0 Limited with added "Ultra Star" alloys, mesh front grille, bonnet louvres, extended sills, stainless steel kick plates and new style roof rails. There was also an ordinary Cherokee Orvis from March 99 to Sept 2001 in 4.0 and 2.5 TD. Long list of added equipment similar to above, plus minor upgrade in Sept 2000 - more chrome, wider alloys, more power on 4.0 which became automatic only. Both X341 CCY and X963 UHM seem to come from dummy unused series |
