It's a 1988 Volvo 240 DL. She's alive and well.

Thanks. Are you the owner? I could set you as such.

These pics are from this past summer when I originally purchased the car. When I found it, the old wagon hadn't run since the movie was being produced back in 2013. I checked the fluids, installed a new battery and the spare tire from my 240 sedan and drove the roly poly wagon home. Since then, the old 245 has had a lot of repairs and upgrades to get it to be a reliable daily driver. These days I am running a cl"ass"y set of wheels but the car essentially looks the same.

The previous owner told me that the fender and rear door were purposely painted off colors to gypsy the car out for the movie. There is overspray everywhere, even on the windows. The paint used is easily removable but I left it alone for nostalgia. At first, I had doubts that this was the actual Volvo from the movie but there are multiple stickers on the inside of the windshield that you can see when watching the movie. I also found a memo from Cleland Productions under the back seat.

When I first saw the movie, I chuckled when I saw this ghetto looking Volvo, knowing that this would still be a relatively new car in the mid 1990's. The best thing about this Volvo's care free appearance is that I can drive and park it in the hood' without anyone batting an eye.

It's definitely an interesting car. I always liked old Volvos. Probably a good idea to keep it looking as in the movie.

I worked on the car at my shop when the guys from the studio's came and had me fix the passenger side window, and do a once over. I have a pic of the car and I after I was done working on it. I will see if I can upload it. I also worked on Reese's station wagon as well and have pics too. The muffler was blown out so I replaced that and the tail pipe too. I know I may have put GET BENT over the diff in the Olds wagon, but I don't remember.
