I think the Pinto squire had the rear script lower on the tailgate; so I'm leaning towards 74-80 Mercury Bobcat Villager.

Zac; I really beg to differ....this is the rear of a 1980 Country Squire..... http://www.stationwagon.com/gallery/pictures/1988_Ford_Country_Squire_2.jpg
It looks nothing like the photo.
This is the rear of Ford Fairmont {US} wagon... http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/1/2692/4741/6729870001_large.jpg
Again not like the example.
Heres a 1980 Ford Pinto wagon... Link to "www.google.com" You can clerly see the similarity with the tailights split by the reverse light. Its indicative of Pinto/Bobcat

Pintos and Bobcats are identical except for grilles and trim. The angle of the rear window would be the same whether it was a Pinto Squire or Bobcat Villager. I chose Bobcat due to the placement of the rear name script. Most Pintos had either a larger P for the Pinto script or a horse figure which the picture appears to have neither.

That is a Pinto badge on the tailgate. You can see the outline of the horse. The badge was in this position for the 1974-76 years. Bobcats had darker woodgrain siding and chrome piping. 1974-76 Pinto Squire
