It's a hatchback, not a sedan. |

We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided SAAB 900 I 16V 1990 Registration number: H814 HRU Body type: 5 Door Hatchback Colour: Blue Date of first registration: August 1990 ✗ Untaxed Tax due: 26 May 2009 There are several Saabs listed with H80x, H81x and H82x HRU plates so it looks right for date, despite colour and version name. SE was May 90 special edition on 900i 16v with "blue" metallic, cross-spoke alloys, wash/wipe, chrome grille, electric sunroof/mirrors, walnut veneer and leather trim. |

^ Makes your headlights into happy headlights. |

Indeed but that's standard. My base 900 has headlight wipers. They'll mean rear wash/wipe. |

Definitely says headlight wash/wipe, but - as you say - all other 900 versions had wash/wipe as well. Dug out another source - slightly different version of same info, without mentioning wash/wipe: - May 90 900i 16v SE 5dr h/back - Series YS3AC5 - introduced as limited edition (build 300) with Iridium Blue (light blue) metallic finish, blue coachline (and other features as above). - Sept 90 SE now full production model in full range of colours without coachline, metallic now cost option - Sept 91 discontinued, replaced by 900 SE LPT Turbo 5dr (which lasted a year until Oct 92). Meanwhile ... - Oct 91 900i 16v XS launched as 3/5dr (we have one) with several trinkets, but no mention of walnut or chrome grille) - Sept 92 XS renamed SE with CD player and air-con added - Sept 93 SE discontinued The May 90 blue coachline for first batch of 300 seems visible in thumb. |

The cross-spokes are the unusual part. Normally seen on the 9000 but people retro-fit them now on the 900.![]() |
