Again if it is in China it should be a 2008 "Qirui A3 SQR [M12]. "Cherry" is for export. -- Last edit: 2010-10-26 23:32:02 |

From Beijing. But we should list it only as Qirui A3, because SQR if the manufacturing code, like we have for many other Chinese vehicles on the site that don't have a commercial name. This has one and it's only A3 in China. The internal code of it is SQR7180 and we could use it in the extra-info field, while keeping M12/M11 (hatchback/sedan) as the chassis-code. See the Chinese-NCAP page for confirmation: Link to "www.autoinfo.gov.cn" (no. 5) Link to "www.autoinfo.gov.cn" (row 5) Additionally, sales started in the second half of 2008, so the model year should be 2009. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chery_A3 About the car, can you tell us Weasel whether it will be manufactured at the FSO plant after all? Depends if they also use such rule for model-year |

In 2010 "Cars of the world" catalogue they say, that SQR7180 is an 1.8 version only. SQR7160 - 1.6 and SQR7200 - 2.0, that's why I listed it as "SQR" only. Maybe they've changed something meanwihle and finally only one engine is in use (like for now)... Also, as I look now at this car catalogue entry again, the body types are indeed M11 and M12, but later in text, more exactly it seems, they are all described as M117/127, where "7" was perhaps taken from the SQR name (maybe it indicates entire family of the Acteco engines). Nothing new we unfortunately do not know about the FSO future. Any agreement with Chinese wasn't signed yet. ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-06-15 21:31:03 |
