I watched this movie (on video yesterday). When clint eastwood and george kennedy arrive at the ranch, they pull up next to a parked Bizzarrini. As my dvd recorder has broken down (..too much work! ![]() |

I have just uploaded a screen shot from the movie. I first watched this movie decades ago but this is the first time I have spotted this Bizzarrini. How I missed it I do not know. At first I thought it was a Maserati, or a Marcos 3 Liter. Any one know how the Bizzarrini came to be in the movie ? |

One of the stuntmen on the film, Carey Loftin, had owned 5-6 Bizzarrinis during the time that this film was made. He would use his own cars on films that he worked on, and usually, inconspicuously. Like here, where it's briefly seen, there is another shot of his Bizzarrini in the movies Bullitt and The Love Bug. Unless you were there and witnessed the chassis number, no one will ever know which exact car was used in each film. If you were able to see the emblem on the C-Pillar, you could narrow it down further. 5300 GT Strada vs GT American. It does have 4-vane wing vents, which means it's a late '67 or '68. My guess it would be either his #0291 or 0303. His chassis numbers 0265, 0266 and 0268 all have 3-vane wing vents. A side note; he installed an automatic transmission into #0303 so it would be easier for actors to drive it. |

I'm impressed by your knowledge of Mr. Loftin. He was the great uncle of my best friend and I have seen pics of his cars. His collection was awe inspiring. |
