I can't place the emblem...I know Dodge Brothers, Hupmobile, and Whippet all had emblems similar to this one during the late '20s and early '30s, but I can't find any of their models that absolutely matches the styling of this car. |

It is a Dodge…but I don’t blame you. The company ran ‘half-and-half’ styles from 1927-1932. From late 1927, the Dodge shape that had seen little change since 1914, was given a bold redesign. There is not much visible on the pic but I think it’s an early 1929 (straight tiebar, square logo replacing the round 28) Link to "images.fineartamerica.com" -- Last edit: 2022-09-07 23:50:38 |

Well, here's the reason I couldn't make heads or tails of it. Turns out the Standard Six (which this is) has a completely different radiator design from the Senior and Victory Six, as clearly illustrated in this ad: Link to "www.carstyling.ru" According to my book, the 1928 models were carried over as a 29.5 (called "First Series" by Dodge) beginning in July 1928 and were added the molding running from the hood to the windscreen pillar seen here. The "true" 1929 was only introduced in January 1929: Link to "bridgeclassiccars.co.uk" -- Last edit: 2023-05-20 09:04:19 |
