Unlike most airliner disaster films of the '70s, this one focuses on the air traffic controllers and the pressure they have to deal with. George Peppard finds himself the scapegoat after a fighter jet gets into a mid-air collision with a civilian plane, while also having to train a cocky younger man the ropes of the job. Meanwhile, some nutball who lost his wife and daughter to a drunk cabbie is taking cabs from the airport and killing the drivers. In a climax reminiscent of Speed, he takes a bus hostage in the final act. I dedicate this contribution to my retired service dog, Galway, who passed away yesterday at the age of 12 Rest in Peace, Galway! The reason for the title card being different from the actual title is due to the best-quality upload I could find being a Swedish VHS rip, of all things.
