A rebadged Vectra. |

No, not really a rebagded Vectra. Same chassis but different bodies. The Aura follows Opel design themes. |

Different chassis. A rebodied G6, if you please. American LWB Epsilon is quite different from European SWB Epsilon. |

I am reliably involved by a fellow Saturn fan that this is a 2008 model Aura as the colour is 'Carbon Flash' which wasn't available for 2007. |

I'd classify it as a sedan, the hatchback version isn't offered in the US (No hatchback, no wagon, no diesels, no manual transmission, lumpen cast-iron pushrod V6 in the base models instead of the Opel four- "Car and Driver" called it "the Pontiac G6 that looks sort of like an Opel Vectra"). |

It's based on a Pontiac G6, but I think Saturn has the better version. And yes, this is indeed an '08. |

Cost-cutting by GM means no rear center armrest and no assist handles in the headliner. Does the Opel have these features? |

Which Opel? Don't you wanted to compare Astra rather than Aura? |
