1978 model,available also with silenced-engine that lower no. of Db for no make excessive noisy("Anti-Làrm Paket"option);not a D-180(that model had hedlights placed directly on the cab's lower part,so should be or a D-290 or A D-330,given the side wind deflectors on cab and bumper-mounted headlights--see model miniature thumbnail) PS Some older Saurers(bonneted)were also build under license by FAP in ex-YU PS 2 Some Saurer history's highlights: --Est.around 1915 by Adolph Saurer in Arbon,Switzerland,was for many years the biggest truck Make of whole Switzerland;it got also an"Italian connection"with OM of Brescia(lasted thru Thirties' to Sixties',that will bought our"Saurer-Patent"injection system);got,however as Brand,a noteworthy fame also on export markets,where in some cases were also made under license or CKD-assembled;among its specialized vehicles,should be remembered also the buses and trolleybuses chassis,plus the offroad building yards and military purposes'trucks; The swansong of Saurer Brand comes at eve of Eighties',when merged by Daimler-Benz,together with another Swiss truck Make,FBW(Franz Brozincevic Wetzikon,est.1918)into an all-national joint-venture,named NAW(Nutzfahrzeugfabrik Arbon und Wetzikon),that keep still in production a while the trucks with those Brands,but later replaced by specialized forward-control Mercedes trucks(that exploits the SK-line cab)specially made for Swiss market(among which certain rigid chassis "monsters" with 5 axles arrangement); For the Saurers,while,the end of an era:last truck made that rolled off the assembly line was deliveried in 1984 -- Last edit: 2007-05-29 00:44:51 |

Not all Saurer are from Switzerland. Austria and also France and USA are possible. |

Yes, as country depends on the vehicles I cannot make it automatic. You can provide me a list of models->country if you wish, like for Ford, where the flag depends on the model.
