◊ 2007-02-27 12:15 |
It it (or was ) an Espace III rather than II |

to prove the destruction of it when a train hits it... |

Yes, why all the time the Espace They should also do that with some others MPVs |

They wanted to prove that a good saftey ratibg won't help. That's why they used an Espace. |

They don't hate Espace especially, they do use it as the prime example of a type of vehicle to be joked about. There is also a TG tradition of joking about Renaults/Peugeots, Alfas and yes many British vehicles -- Last edit: 2007-03-05 00:37:09 |

They made that previously in Top Gear: /vehicle_33668-Renault-Espace-J63.html And Clarkson (main guy from Top Gear) made it in one of its videos: /vehicle_77519-Renault-Espace-J11-1990.html |

I know you like them, but in the UK they have a bad reputation for expensive failure, so prices are very cheap, almost unsaleable if the problems are expensive. After all, the original basis was the Renault 25 wasn't it? And they have almost disappeared because they haven't been financially worth fixing. Espace I and II are worth more in parts. I know of a 2001 Espace that has been backwards and forwards to Renault and they cannot fix the engine management problem. It was practically 'given away' by the company owner ...to a member of staff... As I mentioned above, the use of Espace is due to it being the prime example of a type of vehicle. If they used a Sharan/807/Serena etc etc, it wouldn't represent the same recognisable meaning. If you see Clarkson's 'Motorworld', he also filmed a Sheik that liked the EspaceII and had it made into a family motor boat |

Not just that, it was to show drivers what could happen if they chose to run the red lights at the level crossings. |
