Plymouth Road Runner, I think (it's definitely a Plymouth). |

From the interior shots in the show, it appeared to be a Plymouth Satellite cloned into a Roadrunner. Makes sense, really, since one wouldn't want to waste a nice car with strong collector value in a crash scene. Even in Hollywood they aren't quite that crazy. |

Four stars. This car is later used by the main character throughout the first season. About eight major or recurring characters either drive it or ride in it. In the Season 1 DVD special features Skeet Ulrich describes the Plymouth as a "piece of junk" that barely moves. A deleted scene for Episode 1.01 reveals that the car belonged to his character's grandfather. |

At least three different cars used. In some shots it is a pillarless coupe that has rocker trim (probably a Sport Satellite), in others a pillarless coupe that does not (Road Runner); the taillights change too. The car in the 'spoiler' tag looks like a pillared coupe. The car with rocker trim is probably this one: http://www.studiopicturevehicles.com/inventory/1969-plymouth-road-runner See also my analysis here. |

I'm very impressed by the repair Jonah made on this car. Fine body work, and he managed to find a rear window for a '68-70 B-body 2-door. That's tough work even without an apocalypse to deal with. |

A 1968 Plymouth was used for the crash scene in the pilot episode![]() |
