Yes, Which is So Sad this Truck was Such a good Truck and it went good It made me sad to see that This Truck Destroyed in the movie I'd rather blow up the Freightliner Cabover that Jack Crews drove in his flash backs instead of this truck " the "flash backs" of why he lost his C.D.L. wand why he went to prison Jack Crews should of drove this truck in his Flash backs -- Last edit: 2008-12-30 04:09:46 |

Rhino, this truck is a 1994 International 9200 Eagle, I know who owns Crew's surviving truck from Black Dog & he has all the info on the trucks used in the movie this truck & Crew's Black Peterbilt 379's were all the same year they were all 1994's -- Last edit: 2010-01-17 19:14:54 |

I would say it was a 9400. The hood looks too long to be a 9200. Another thing, was the 9200 available in 1994? |

It is a 9400. The grill on a 9200 has a trim piece under the grill. On the 9400, the grill goes down to the bumper |

Going by the exhaust of the truck there was actually two trucks used in the film for this character truck in this scene The truck that was primary used had a much newer exhaust with what looks like to be a rain stopper on the top of the exhaust The truck that was ultimately blown up after hitting the tanker had an older rusted out exhaust with no rain stopper on the top of the exhaust ![]() As of right now this seems to be the only character truck besides the main black Peterbilt 379 that Swayze's character in the film had drove that had a stunt double where more than one truck was used for the character truck Another thing is that Rusty DeWees that was Junior's actor that had driven this truck in the film was actually a real life truck driver before he had became famous where he often mentions that he had ended driving a Mack during his real life trucking career before he had ended up becoming famous Link to "www.google.com" |

I'm not sure if that's actually the case. The shots of the truck hitting the fuel pumps and the the tanker where done in two separate takes. The shot of it veering off the road to miss the cement truck and it subsequently hitting the pumps was done in one take, and the multiple shots of it hitting the tanker where done in a separate take. ![]() ![]() ![]() The reason you can see the rain cap moving during the chase and when it hits the pumps is because it's under it's own power. But when it hits the tanker and explodes, the truck was actually being pulled along by a pulley attached to something else. This was obviously done for safety, you wouldn't want an actual person driving the truck when it exploded. (I heard Carey Loftin worked on this movie, and I bet he was more than willing to do this stunt by himself. ![]() ![]() So I do believe only one truck was used, and the reason you don't see the rain cap is because it wouldn't be moving if the truck wasn't running. The truck looks the same in every other scene to me. The visible damage to the sideskirts and cab match up to those it received when it hit the pumps, so there's nothing really else that proves a stunt double was used. -> 1990 International 9400 Eagle Sidenote: I just noticed that there's a red circular badge on the front fenders, this is an International 9400 Eagle! -- Last edit: 2023-06-18 06:04:26 |

Rusty DeWees which is Junior's actor once also said that there was two trucks used in the film as his character truck So, I'm definitely going to go with what people say that were on the set of the film over visual people |

The speedometer on the km/hr scale ends at 137. Why so specific? |
◊ 2025-03-26 13:18 |
its what 85 mph is in km/h ( but i agree that they could push it to 140 .. ) |
