About that site. I'm not really sure if we can trust it as I've been looking through some of the vehicle pages and some of the years are definitely off. This is usually the case with other movie car rental sites ![]() |

I am actually a close friend of the original owner of this car, who custom painted it as the stars and stripes after 9/11. If I remember correctly it is a 1987. The car was sold on ebay around 03-04 and bought for the show by NBC. The blue BRAT in the show pilot is not the same car, they swapped it for the red/white/blue version when the show was picked up. On the cinema vehicles page you can actually see the blaupunkt head unit that my buddy custom mounted with a WOOD bezel. The show dressers/designers added the bed seats after it was purchased, they were never there when I rode in it. I actually have photos somewhere of this car back when we used to cruise around in it in college:) |

BRAT should be in all capital letters. It's an acronym for "Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter". |

Yes BRATs came from the factory with T-bar roofs. |
