Mazda Familia or Protege, depending on where this car was sold. |

i think it maybe a mazda 323 sedan... |

yes, but the 323 in japan is called Familia |

IIRC all the racing scenes were filmed in the US, so the car might nor might not be a Japaneses-specification model. |

Personnellement, ça m'étonnerait que la production ait fait l'effort de se procurer une Familia japonaise alors que la Protegé américaine est extérieurement identique. |

I like how it has a wing to make it look like a fast car, but it has no mags. |

97-98 North American spec Japanese spec tail lamps have no amber, and the corner lamps at the front are clear, rather than orange. |

In Japan though, thats acceptable to personalise your car with unnecessary stuff. I think Jeremy Clarkson said something along the lines of "Nearly all middle class people in Japan live in a tiny cramped flat (apartment) where there is actually no room to breathe, let alone personalise with your own belongings, so the only way to show your creativity is on the road." when he went to Japan on Motorworld. |

Thanks for very informative and educational post about Japanese external tuning, as well as reference to big car and people expert Clarkson. |
