I think the main is 1950+ A40 Sports like /vehicle_75003-Austin-A40-Sports-1950.html . Thumb is A90. |

The header rail on the windscreen in the main picture is exposed back to the line of the front door's glass and is the same as the Austin A90 Atlantic. With the Austin A40 Sports its header rail was completely covered by the removable soft top. |

Stick to your guns, dsl - I think you do, usually. The car depicted is one of 4,011 Jensen-bodied A40 Sports cars built. Looking at Bonhams' (Harrogate Showground) Lot 439 you see a singularly attractive red example with rear wheel spats, clearly revealing some windscreen frame not covered by the hood. The A30 TLF ... is slow exiting the car park and the A40 is seen behind it in a shot with Terry-Thomas clutching his foot, with an overall-wearing cyclist about to pass him. The A90 Atlantic - seen in the shots with T-T and the M8 Tourer, and also talking to Carmichael in the Heinkel, has very different doors though still deserves its own page for this film. -- Last edit: 2016-08-15 06:43:41 |
