Definitely a V8. What year is difficult to tell without a better view of the bonnet, etc. |

The V8 replaced the DBS (which had a different front) in 1972. Later versions had a closed "power bulge" instead of an open air vent on the bonnet, but the picture here is too dark to tell. I don't know when the USA got the Aston Martin V8, whether it was at the beginning or some years into the run. Of course grey imports are possible, although as I understand the US had very stringent emissions regulations meaning it could be hard for exotic imports to be allowed on their roads, which is a bit of joke when you look at all the big gas-guzzlers America still produced in the 70s and 80s. |

Agree details on this one, but slight surprise that this is the only V8 we have dated in 72-77 period - where have they all gone? |

US sales started with DBS V8 in 71, so 72+ V8 in US is perfectly possible. |
