The appearance, the colour and the body design do point to the identification being correct, so the numberplate isn’t really of any importance. The height of the windscreen, being a bit less than that of a Minor 1000, would be difficult in the extreme to fake, so my view is that your identification is good. My perception is that the series of programmes was set in the 1940s, so any Morris Minor excepting the split bumper lowlight, and that only for a period of months, would be anachronistic.
