This is the car they crash into in the scene when they argue about Project Mayhem in the Towncar. -- Last edit: 2007-08-22 12:48:26 |

It's a Mark VI, I think, given that it's got the Continental spare, and there looks to be an opera window on the C-pillar. |

Notice the fake license plate on the car. Like David Fincher's previous film Se7en, Fight Club is not set in any particular city or state, the point is that it is meant to represent urban environments in general, it dissects the culture of the capitalist world in general, not just America, I think. If Se7en was set in New York, people might think that that kind of thing could only happen in New York, by not naming the city, it shows that it could happen anywhere, that's the state that society has gotten to. Later on the film Tyler Durden starts up Fight Clubs in other American cities, places like LA and San Francisco are mentioned but when the Narrator goes to all these cities to search for Tyler, at no point can you tell exactly what city he's in, all the cars in this film have these fake plates with no state name on them, all the cities look the same and have the same atmosphere. -- Last edit: 2007-08-06 00:52:57 |

In the third thumbnail, the car used is a Lincoln Town car from 1981-89. The Continental Mark VI's had single bulbs under hideaway headlamps and the lincoln in the thumbnail has the signature Town Car double headlamps. |

^They weren't single lights: /vehicle_258164-Lincoln-Continental-Mark-VI-1980.html however they were round. -- Last edit: 2011-10-12 04:45:48 |

Interesting. Either they performed two complete crashes (the Mark IV was obviously destroyed as well), or it's a Mark IV with a Town Car front clip on it. -Kurt -- Last edit: 2012-06-22 04:03:35 |

Kinda late, but this could be the answer to why it has a Town Car front clip. It might be a long shot though. |
