I don't like these cartoons but I'll quit fussing and join the party [Image: D.gif]

It probably represents one of the big "B" body Chryslers of the late 1960s early 1970s. My guess - 1970/1971 Plymouth Barracuda. Link to "www.avonhill.com"

I agree with what Wrenchhead has said about 'cartoon' cars but the rear side scoop is similar to on the Plymouth GTX. : http://www.pecuniary.com/graphics/gtx/GTX115.jpg :)

I think thats it. B body chrysler product with a side scoop: 1970/1971 plymouth gtx.
Looks like somebody big sat in it and bent the middle a little bit

Except for the side scoop, if it's anything (instead of a combination of generic muscle car design) I'd be more partial to a Plymouth Duster (http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/plymouth-duster/plymouth-duster.shtml)

It's not a '70 GTX though, the edge of the rear side window came to a point, instead of curving around like that.

It looks more like a 1971 GTX due to the rounder body style.

maybe a tuned Dodge Challenger?

It looks the most like a 1970 GTX/Satellite/Road Runner to me. The flat front, chrome bumpers down low, side scoop, and the overall shape looks most like a 1970. But as Y'all have said, it's just a cartoon...maybe one of the guys who draws the Simpsons is a Mopar guy. There has also been a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T on that show.

It's a 1970 Roadrunner. The GTX and Roadrunner were both variations of the Plymouth Satellite. One way to tell the differance between these two, is that the GTX had double stripes down the side (usually black or white), while the Roadrunner had a single gold "dust trail" stripe down the side like in the pic.

GTX stripes:

My dent is on the other side!!! All right homer!!
The rear window needs to be piched down to look like a roadrunner window, close really close.

A muscle car was called out in the script. That meant keep it generic. When I drew this I had the'70 Road Runner
on the brain. The reason I thought it would be a good choice is because Sub Lime is such a Simpson color. I animated
this sequence and there's a good shot of the front end in there somewhere.

...Oh, and it is a cartoon, therefor it is a charicature and many features are either exagerated or left out just
to keep it funny.

I thought it was a duster at first. Then i realised, the cars too big, and the rear fender treatment is definetly roadrunner. Awesome car!

It's definitely a 1970 Roadrunner (although I can see how it could be mistaken for a GTX). The grill and tail lights give it away.
