Prius II? I've never heard of a II? |
◊ 2006-05-12 05:40 |
It's just referring to it being the Pruis II because it's the second generation (although I've only seen it referred to as the Prius II on this site). |
◊ 2006-05-12 06:07 |
I would leave the II off because it's not the name of the car. |
explorer4x4 ◊ 2006-05-12 06:20 |
Ya, and we don't call other cars like the Ford Explorer, a Explorer II if it is the 2nd generation. |
◊ 2006-05-12 07:27 |
The only car I can think of that was a second generation and actually used the II designation was the Mustang II. But that could probably be because it was smaller than the original (like the LTD II and Bronco II but those actually had the bigger version of the same name selling the same year). |

It is like for the VW Golf and lots of other cars, where a number (sometimes with "mk" in front of it) is added when multiple models share the same name. It is a common naming for European cars, and some japanese ones... It is not used only here: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22toyota+prius+II%22 -- Last edit: 2006-05-12 11:31:07 |
◊ 2006-05-13 05:05 |
It might be common in Europe and Japan, but not in the US. Yes the foreign car fans say mk 1 and mk 2, but the average person in American would just consider it another Prius. And since the show takes place in Rhode Island, it would be just a Toyota Prius. |
◊ 2006-05-13 11:30 |
The II is not part of the car name, in Europe, Japan or USA, that's why it is written in non-bold in the title, and not included in the model link written in red. |

Is it just me or is the prius the gayest car ever? |
◊ 2006-11-22 10:44 |
Not sure, for me it sounds like and has the presence of a milk float. |
◊ 2006-11-22 20:28 |
It's not really gay, it's more just a big electric Corolla (in otherwords, boring). |
◊ 2006-11-23 20:07 |
The New Beetle is strictly a girls car, IMO. |
◊ 2006-11-23 21:32 |
Anecdote about that: For the movie "The Whole Nine Yards" VW provided a Beetle. They said that they would give money to the producers if the cars was used by main male character, but not if it was used by the woman, as the car was already popular enough for women. Producers prefere to make it used by the woman, because it fitted better, rather than getting the money ![]() |

Yeah I remember in Dickie Roberts, David Spade is yelling at the driver of a New Beetle, thinking that a female is driving it. Instead, a big macho guy comes out and beats him up. ![]() /vehicle_53817-Volkswagen-New-Beetle-Typ-9C.html |

In the mid eighties, Chevy rebadged it's problematic Citation as a "Citation II" without changing anything else to it. There was just one generation of this model! I guess somebody at GM thought that people would associate it to the more popular sixties Chevy II but it didn't happen! Lincoln did use II III IV V VI VII VIII to designate the generations of it's Mark models. |

Brian's car |
◊ 2009-07-20 12:50 |
Brian's car may have been sold. I don't remember this episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yltMViGkNog |
◊ 2009-08-07 01:04 |
It's a deleted scene from the episode when Stewie and Brian bought the house to flip. It never happened... |
◊ 2010-02-10 14:16 |
I wonder how Brian reacted to the Toyota prius recall ? |
◊ 2010-02-10 14:24 |
probably wrote it off as a bunch of conspiracy bunk, and then lost his brakes. |

Could be a Prius III due to the interior. |
◊ 2012-04-07 20:10 |
No, it has the Prius II interior. Prius II: http://0.tqn.com/d/cars/1/0/B/m/ag_07prius_interior.jpg Prius III: Link to "assets.pakwheels.com" I've always thought that the animation of this car was very accurate. |

They really did their reseaech on this car. The only mistake was the gear selector. The show had a traditional shifter location instead the stubby one on the dash in real life. Why Toyota and BMW thought there was a need to change the way automatics are shifted is beyond me. I approve of the round dial approach that Jaguar and RAM are using because it's operation is logical. -- Last edit: 2012-09-28 06:37:02 |

LET'S NOT FORGET. After he drove the Winnebago (and the orange sedan right after that), he went with his future self to the future and came back to the day of his near-death experience with the lifeguard tower. When he succeeded in preventing it, his past self (the Stewie that would have been hit by the lifeguard tower) vaporized the present Stewie, thus erasing ALL future trace. So, it's like he NEVER drove the Winnebago and the orange Sedan in the first place, and that driving the Prius WAS his first drive. -- Last edit: 2012-11-12 18:21:35 (antp) |
