-- Last edit: 2006-03-07 22:21:18 |

With those grooves on the side, I'd say it is definately a Pontiac. |

Actually 1996. |

How do you tell it is a Pontiac Trans-Sport and not a Chevrolet Lumina APV? |
◊ 2006-03-24 00:07 |
Mostly the side cladding, which was more basic on the Lumina. |

Exact. And the Oldsmobile Silhouette had black stripe stickers above the waistline and around the side windows. By the way, to stop the confusion about the Pontiac/Chevrolet Trans Sport designation in Europe : it was sold first as Pontiac, then had a face-lift for 1994. A very cheap face-lift, actually, because it was simply an Olds Silhouette, with Pontiac badges and without the black stripes ! Then, the second-gen. Trans Sport arrived for 1997, with a Pontiac grille again, but it was sold as a Chevrolet. Switching brands was probably a late decision... |

Also, the Olds Silhouette retained the original wedged nose until it was entirely redesigned on the U-body for 1997. The Transport indeed had Pontiac's signature cladding. Of course, this was the '1996 Pontiac AstroWagon' ![]() |

Should be a 1997. They said. |
◊ 2006-09-07 01:44 |
1994-1996 1997 is when the body changed to the "montana-style" |
◊ 2009-02-10 01:03 |
They referred to it as a Pontiac "Astro Wagon" on the show |
