Belongs to Kent "Flounder" Dorfman's (Stephen Furst) older brother Fred, who is lending it to him. The other Delta frat boys make Kent take them out in it, the car ends up getting smashed up, then for the final parade scene the car is transformed into the 'Deathmobile':

Yellow car next to Corvair, Crosley Pickup (1946-48) is also interesting.
We haven't Crosley in the database yet...

It's 1964.
'64 has molding from the wheel arch to the bumper.
1961-63's molding are only under the doors, and '65 had changed the front fender.

Yeah, it was a '64. Kinda funny since the movie took place in '61 or '62.

The rusty car next to Corvette looks like a 1958-59 Plymouth Fury and I think the wagon on far right side is a 1955-56 Pontiac?

The Pontiac 'wagon' is in fact an ambulance conversion, making it by far the rarest car in the pic.

More rare than the yellow thing?

The 1964 model seems to be the most popular 60s Continental in movies.

No, they wrecked it and they turned it into a parade float to terrorize people in the parade.

So they basically stage their own demolition derby with the Deathmobile (on that note, D-Day is one of the more underrated characters).

I can see where it can look so close to a 63 to the average and since it is supposed to be a summer of 62 then a 63 would be correct for a brand new car. And this one can pass if it wasn't for the lower rocker moldings.

The rusty car near the Corvette is a '58 Plymouth Belvedere.

Don't see the Corvair listed anywhere.
