This is a late 50s Commer Ambulance. Commer supplied the chassis which was then fitted with a fibreglass body, quite advanced for its time. |

I would suggest there is enough difference in the front area to suggest this isn't a Commer BF. Check this link http://www.commer.org.nz/Blight.html Note the Commer script, the radiator cap (both missing from this shot) and the fact the sidelights in this shot are under the headlights, not off to the side as in the identification shot. I have a number of images of the BF as ambulances, ice cream vans and passenger service vehicles, and without exception, they all use the Commer front. There is always the possibility this is a real special one off and I am happy to be corrected. |

It is the same vehicle as here: /vehicle_21081-Austin-LD.html I think it is an Austin LD. |

Hi the ambulance is known as a 'wandsworth'. It is either a Austin or Morris LD chasis with modified rear suspension (allard de dion). The Body was designed by the london county council in 'thier' workshops in the london borough of wandsworth, between 1957ish and 1970ish |
