All F40 of this movie are replicas. Since they destroy several of them, the movie would have cost a lot if they used real F40. Same for the Lamborghini Countach. There is even a small 1:18 or 1:24 F40 -- Last edit: 2013-04-28 21:32:08 (karoomay) |

I would say: very ugly replicas |

This not a real Ferrari F40. This is a very ugly F40 replica, probably based on a....Corvette??? It certainly doesn't look like a F40. They look too short on the wheelbase. |

Pininfarina must cry when they see these things! -- Last edit: 2007-07-14 19:53:39 |

Definitely Pontiac Fiero based. There are a ton of exotic "replicas" based on the Fiero, due to the fact that they're cheap, plentiful, and the plastic body comes off pretty easily. The downside, though, is that the proportions of the Fiero aren't close enough to any of the exotic cars that it's customized to look like, except MAYBE the Ferrari 348/355. |

Skid, the problem with the Fiero replica's is that people don't spend the money and extend the chassis (or frame as you term it in the USA).There are some quite convincing Lamborghini replica's on stretched frames on US E-bay,however,the replica Ferrari 355's always seem slightly wrong, even with a stretched frame.By the way, instant way to spot a replica 355 (Fiero or MR2) look for a small black triangle on the rear edge of the doors where the glass meets the door (never seen a replica yet with these fitted!). |

I thought both replicas looked pretty good. Obviously many auto enthusiasts aren't going to have a hard time identifying them as replicas, but they look pretty good for what they are. |

This replica was produced by JR'S, and it was called Jisod 8F402 |

Indeed: Link to "jalopnik.com" As Skid stated, they were Fiero-based. Shall we list it as: - Jisod 8F402? - JR's Jisod 8F402? - JR's Kitcars Jisod 8F402? - Jisod 8F402 Ferrari F40 Replica ? - JR's Jisod 8F402 Ferrari F40 Replica ? - JR's Kitcars 8F402 Ferrari F40 Replica ? US origin anyway. -- Last edit: 2014-07-04 21:34:45 |

The Lamborghini replica looks decent in my opinion, but the Ferrari on the other hand, eeehh... |

I agree. |

Obvious mid-'80s GM door handle and lock assemblies, too. The exact same ones that were in my '84 Camaro. |
