 I built this car and when we finished principle photography it was shipped out to the studios in California.

 :no: No Super Beetle 1302, the front is McPherson-less flat. It's a 1973 Sedan (1300 outside USA).

 @ingo: The four vents (German models) were for both the 1300 and 1302/3 1972 onwards.

 Since it was specially built for a movie it could be a little of both.

But: No US 1973+ taillights. No 1973+ seat belt warning lamp (well I tried hard to spot it, to the left of the radio). Switches seem to be the older 1972 type (lights, hazard). It has 1972 only C-pillar vents. 1972+ rear window, so no older than 1972 anyway.
