I think that was a production color. I remember seeing a few around town

It wasn't a Cadillac production color. I have a 1979 color brochure, the only way it could have been original if it was one of about 5 Mary Kay special ordered Coupe DeVille's. Odds are it's custom. Mary Kay's were a lighter pink called Mountain Laural.

I dont know whats worse the red blood all over the interior or the pink paint all over the exterior.

Pink Paint is worse cars look more masculine with blood on them but it doesn't work on crap cars

Kooshmeister US

It isn't meant to look masculine. As I recall, the guy bought it for his wife.

"It's a Coupe. I love that car". "It's in my mother's name".

Looks like it's owned by the Pepto-Bismol company.

Didn't that scene take place in Christmas 1977 or '78?

No, scene takes place near end of movie, circa 1980.

Actually, I checked, and the Lufthansa Heist was in December 1978, and this scene was in March of 1979.

What you're thinking of is the June 11, 1980 scene at the end.

This is Louis Cafora's car, but in real life it was a Fleetwood, not a DeVille. His and his wife's bodies were also never found, unlike as portrayed here, murdered in the front seat of their car.

Though he did in fact drive it to a gang meeting just blocks from the JFK Air Cargo Centre where the FBI were investigating the heist.

Yeah, Lou Cafora had used his share from the heist to buy that car for his wife, Joanna, his role in the heist were to have some of the money laundered through his "legitimate" business which were a series of parking lots that he owned in Brooklyn.

According to FBI and NYPD reports, within days of the heist, Lou Cafora had disobey his associate, Jimmy Burke's (Lead man and planner) orders about keeping a low profile since he was using his share for his lifestyle.... that and he kept speaking to his wife about his business with the gang.

This led Burke to kill both of them.

I say blood, because I hate seeing people with their blood splattered all over a car's interior especially if the interior is from a pink Cadillac.

I say pink paint - blood will eventually wash off, but if you've got pink paint, you're stuck with it.

I rather stick with the car's pink paint than someone's brain matter throughout the interior of such a nice car and beside the paint job is my type of pink.

Supposed to show what would happen if you disobey orders from a gang that will kill their own for any minor screw-ups, including indiscreet spending.

What's up with all the hate for color pink? I think it's a cool color! You know what car color sucks? Brown!

I was able to read a bit through the factory sticker in 4K quality, I think they listed it as a 1983 and the color being a factory choice 'Flamingo Pink' but obviously all made for the film. Quite detailed for the few seconds it was shown.
