1986 Pontiac Fiero |

I just remember that this Fiero had speakers in the headrests (mostly because a friend of mine has the exact same car in black, with the same headrest speakers). Cool little cars, although a little hard to get out of gracefully. |

This is a '84 Fiero. The '86 model had a different nose. Only the '84 had headrest speakers. |

I think this one would make a good main photo, otherwise the one pulling into the driveway. -- Last edit: 2008-02-19 21:48:39 |

Ok, this car's gotta be an '85 SE for two reasons: The speakers in the seats were only there for the first two years of production, '84 and '85, which rules out the possibility of it being an '86. The rear decklid doesn't have the vent right over the engine (where the vent is a part of the decklid) like an '84, but instead has those two louvers on each side of the decklid, which was the standard practice for the car until '88. |

Jeanie's car is an '85 SE. The trim level is clear by seat trim and SE in the trim panel, while the year is clear by the deck lid (lack of a center grille) and the lack of a 3rd brake light (1986+). Snookie and Loucifre are incorrect. (Side note - this style nose was used on all base coupes from 1984 to 1986. Indy, SE and 1986+ GT coupes used the rounded "aero" nose.) Wampa-One has posted an '85 GT, which was a few parking spaces to the right of the Camaro in the school parking lot scene. It can be seen around timeframe 31:01 and for only 1 second as Ferris speeds past it. (Production stills show the rear of the car clearly though) |

Someone I went to high school with had one of these beauties (in 2008) and it was mint. They even featured it in our yearbook because it was so unique for the times. |

Such a solid classic! These things were tanks and really hot at the time. Here's a video tour of a 1986 model; shows you a lot of the interior of the car and its features: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNCdhU5-_s4&t=123s |
